Six suspects have been detained by the Adamawa State Police Command in relation to the reported abduction of a nine-year-old boy in the Mubi South Local Government Area of the State.
The suspects, identified as Muhammad Nasir, 20, Umar Mohammed, 23, Mohammed Abubakar, 37, Auwal Usman, 21, Abdulhamid Musa, 19, and Abubakar Mohammed, 23, allegedly sought a ransom of N5 million for the kidnapped boy.
Mustapha Ibrahim, the victim, was allegedly abducted on October 18 at around 6:30 pm On October 19, the victim’s father filed a complaint at the police station, leading to the arrest of the perpetrators.
This information was released in Yola on Monday by SP Suleiman Nguroje, a police public relations officer.
He claimed that before abducting the boy, the suspects had him buy yoghurt juice for them.
The Mubi South Divisional Police Officer and his team received praise from CP Afolabi Babatola, the Commissioner of Police, for their prompt action in saving the innocent youngster and apprehending the culprits.
