Omoyele Sowore, a prominent Nigerian activist known for organizing protests against injustice, has come under scrutiny following the deployment of police officers to Afe Babalola’s Lagos firm ahead of the #FreeDeleFarotimi protest.
The campaign aims to challenge the arrest and detention of Dele Farotimi, a well-known lawyer and activist.
Using the hashtag #FreeDeleFarotimi, Sowore and others have demanded accountability and transparency regarding Farotimi’s detention, rallying citizens to stand against what they view as an abuse of power.
However, Sowore has faced allegations from Twitter user Nefertiti (@firstladyship), who accused him of being a “mole” undermining organic protests.

In response to the heavy police presence at the protest venue, Nefertiti questioned the source of leaked protest plans, suggesting that such actions compromise the efforts to hold authorities accountable.
The statement, which has sparked widespread discussion on X, reads, “Sowore is a mole; his will always guarantee that no organic protest like EndSARS will happen under the APC.”
Nefertiti further raised suspicions about protest logistics, asking, “Who gives authoritarians the dates & venues of protests? Who gives a regime notices ahead of time? Some of you will learn the hard way.”
The allegations have divided public opinion, with some defending Sowore’s activism while others echoing similar concerns.
At the time of this report, sowore has not responded to these claims.
