Spain and Scotland have secured their participation in the Euro 2024 competition in an exciting turn of events. The game-deciding goal was scored by Barcelona midfielder Gavi in Spain’s encounter versus Norway.
Spain defeated Norway in the game on Sunday by a score of 1-0. Early in the second half, Gavi scored the game’s lone goal. In 25 appearances, the 19-year-old scored his sixth goal for his nation.
Spain put on a strong display, giving Manchester City striker Erling Haaland almost no opportunities during the game. Spain’s participation in Euro 2024 was assured by the victory, which also assisted Scotland in moving up from Group A.
A major accomplishment for Scotland is their qualification for Euro 2024. With one game left, Norway, which has 10 points in qualifying group A, cannot catch them at this point.
Norway, which last participated in a major tournament in Euro 2000, may currently only theoretically qualify through play-offs despite their best efforts. To have a chance, they must maintain third place and hope Serbia advances from Group G.
Spain started to celebrate as soon as the game was over because they had successfully qualified for Euro 2024. Scotland also celebrated their qualification at the same time. Both teams are set for a thrilling competition in Germany next summer.
