Former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has called upon Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu to caution government officials against utilizing public funds to hire private jets for Eid-el-Fitr visits.
Sani’s appeal came through a message posted on X, where he extended Eid greetings to Tinubu while highlighting the issue of extravagant spending by public officials during festive periods.
The statement from Sani read, “I wish the President a Happy Eid al Fitr in advance; And please Your Excellency, tell Elected and Appointed Public Officials not to spend public funds hiring private jets just to come and “greet you” for Sallah.”
Recall that Tinubu’s Eid-el-Fitr celebration plans were recently made public by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.
The statement disclosed that Tinubu would be celebrating the occasion in Lagos, departing from Abuja on Sunday. It emphasized that the President would observe the occasion with prayers for Nigeria and spend time with family.
The statement disclosed, “Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja, the Nation’s Capital, for Lagos on Sunday ahead of Eid-el-Fitr.
