Despite the Super Eagles’ defeat to hosts Ivory Coast in the Africa Cup of Nations final on Sunday, Ahmed Musa has commended the squad for their resilience and unity.
Ivory Coast staged a comeback to defeat Nigeria 2-1 in the final match, held at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan, the capital of Ivory Coast.
In a social media post on Monday, Musa, who remained an unused substitute throughout the tournament, reflected on the team’s journey. He highlighted the unity displayed on the field, emphasizing how it transcended religious and tribal differences.
Musa also expressed gratitude to the Super Eagles’ supporters, acknowledheir unwavering dedication and chants, which he believes lifted the team to new heights.

He wrote, “Reflecting on our journey in the AFCON tournament, I’m filled with immense pride for the Nigerian Super Eagles. Following the loss to Ivory Coast on Sunday night, they will depart Ivory Coast for Abuja Monday afternoon. #Super Eagles
