The Super Eagles’ goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, has revealed that he is still in pain after he was forced to leave the field in the 80th minute of the match against Cameroon on Saturday, January 27.
Nwabali collided with Cameroon’s winger, Georges-Kevin N’Koudou, and was unable to continue the game.
He was replaced by Francis Uzoho, who kept a clean sheet as Nigeria won the match 2-0.
In a video interview with Brila FM on Sunday, January 28, Nwabali said that he was told that there was no injury, but he still felt pain in his leg.
“Yeah, i still feel pains in my leg, the pain is still there. They said no injury, but i am still feeling pains. But i’ll be fine,” he said.
Nwabali, who plays for South African club Chippa United, has been one of the standout performers for the Super Eagles in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
