In the aftermath of a disappointing 1-1 home draw against Lesotho, Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro has expressed determination that the team will make a strong comeback with a victory against Zimbabwe on Sunday.
The West African squad, eager to revive their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign, faced a setback after failing to secure a win against Lesotho, considered minnows, in Thursday’s match on home turf.
With an opportunity to bounce back, Peseiro and his team are gearing up for a crucial showdown at Huye Stadium in Butare against Zimbabwe.
The Portuguese coach also emphasised their commitment to going all out for a win and turning the tide in their favour.
“We will respond very well (vs Zimbabwe),” the former Saudi Arabia and Venezuela coach told reporters.
“Now we have to beat Zimbabwe on Sunday,” the Super Eagles manager declared.
The game will commence at 2 pm Nigerian time.
