The Supreme Court has rejected an application by Emeka Ihedioha of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State. Ihedioha sought a certificate of return as the rightful Governor of Imo State, arguing that Governor Hope Uzodinma was not qualified to run initially.
In a ruling delivered by Justice Tijjani Abubakar on Tuesday, the apex court dismissed the application, deeming it lacking in merit and unnecessary.

The Supreme Court went on to describe the application as vexatious and awarded a cost of N40 million against Mike Ozekhome for bringing the matter before the court.
