The owner of Lafia-Angbas Hospital, Dr. Stephen Angbas, was killed by unidentified gunmen in a terrible occurrence that occurred on Tuesday night while Angbas was riding his motorcycle to his farm in the Awe Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
According to eyewitnesses, the attackers, who were likely armed robbers, attacked Angbas and his accompanying Okada rider with a brutal blade.
Angbas unfortunately passed away from his wounds, but the motorcycle rider, Mikailu Dahiru, was taken to a neighboring hospital and is now receiving emergency care for his wounds.
Mr. Ibrahim, a prominent member of the local government council, expressed his serious worry about the occurrence.
He added that the security officials have been alerted by the council chairman for quick action.
The state’s police, through spokesperson DSP Rahman Nansel, have affirmatively confirmed the report in a statement.
According to the statement, “Today, on the 17th of October 2023, at approximately 4:00 pm, mobile police operatives received distressing information regarding a fatal assault along the Jangargari-Awe Road.
Tragically, the victims were a commercial motorcycle rider, Mikailu Dahiru, who survived the attack, and Dr. Angbass Stephen, who succumbed to his grievous injuries.
“In light of this senseless violence, CP Maiyaki Baba extends heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and has initiated a comprehensive investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.
“The Commissioner encourages any member of the public with relevant information to come forward and assist in the swift apprehension of those responsible for this despicable act.”
