Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly and son of former Governor Theodore Orji has decided to resign from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State.
Orji conveyed his decision to his close supporters on Monday night, expressing the necessity of the move. “After careful consultation and personal decision, I have decided to exit the PDP. It’s time to move on with our lives,” he stated.
This resignation follows shortly after another prominent figure, Chris Nwagboso, former Deputy Chief of Staff in Abia State, also stepped down from the PDP. Nwagboso communicated his resignation directly to the PDP Ward Chairman of Ehi-Na-Uguru/Osokwa Ward 5 in Isiala Ngwa South LGA, Abia State.
Additionally, the entire executive committee members of the PDP from Item ward C in Bende local government area of the State have tendered their resignations from the party.
The political landscape in the State has seen significant shifts, particularly with the recent gubernatorial election loss by the PDP to the Labour Party (LP), resulting in Alex Otti emerging as the governor.
