Investigative journalist David Hundeyin has called on the Nigerian military to take decisive action, warning that the country’s Armed Forces could soon collapse under the leadership of Bola Tinubu and growing United States influence.
In a post on his official X account, Hundeyin wrote, “If there is anybody with some testicles left in the Nigerian military, this is the time to take charge.”
He further warned that “by the time Trump and the Aso Rock marionette are done with this Kabuki theatre show they are putting on, there will no longer be a Nigerian Armed Forces.”
Hundeyin ended his post with a chilling prediction: “You are going to die.”

His comments come amid escalating tension over US interest in Nigeria following America’s recent designation of the country as one of concern over alleged religious persecution.
Reactions flooded the post, with users linking the situation to alleged US interference and Tinubu’s growing relationship with Washington.
One user, Prince Udeh (@Africaanaah), claimed that “US interest in Nigeria is beyond what you see; Christians are not the target,” alleging that “the invasion into Nigeria is beyond religious sentiments” and connected to the discovery of rare earth minerals in northern Nigeria.
Another user, Tboy (@Gandalf54670444), accused Tinubu of selling out the nation, saying, “Tboy has sold Naija to d US. This saviour charade is simply a legitimisation of d product delivery.”
Several comments also suggested that the recent military reshuffle by Tinubu was an attempt to secure loyalty within the armed forces.
“That’s why he cleared the generals after the rumour of a coup,” a user named Eddy (@Akazamoon33) wrote. “The ones installed now definitely flow with the Aso Rock marionette.”
Others echoed fears that Nigeria could face the same fate as countries like Libya, Iraq, and Afghanistan following US involvement.
“They lied again and again — Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Afghanistan, Sudan, Somalia, Lebanon, Ukraine — and each time, another country fell into ruin. Nigeria is the next on the list,” wrote Truth Serum (@Itiswhataguy).
The post has since gone viral, amplifying public concerns about Nigeria’s sovereignty, security, and the perceived weakening of its military institution under Tinubu’s leadership.
