Primate Ayodele Tells Tinubu— Tax Reform Bills Won’t Boost Nigeria’s Economy; Will Only Fuel Corruption

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, on Sunday, revealed that the proposed Tax Reform will not have any significant impact on Nigeria’s economy.

Primate Ayodele said the tax reform needs to be reviewed properly by Bola Tinubu because it won’t add so much value to the country’s economic situation.

In a statement by his Media Aide, Oluwatosin Osho, the prophet mentioned that as time goes on, churches, and NGOs will also begin to pay tax and this would be met by stiff opposition as people will not be in support of it.

His words,”The government should address the issue of Tax reforms properly because it won’t make the economy of the country buoyant. It will only lead to corruption and will not add so much value to the economy of the country.

“Churches and NGOs will also begin to pay indirect tax yet nothing significant will be done regarding the economy of the country.

“VAT will be increased and it won’t make the economy boom. The tax reform is a good thing, it’s a great step but it won’t be handled properly.

It won’t be perfectly handled. The government will make money from it but will they use it appropriately?” He queried.

“I want to call on the government to prioritize reforms that will make lives better for the common man and will make life better for them.

“Government needs to make money but the welfare of the people is more important than any other thing,” he added.
