In a grim turn of events on Christmas Day, technician Badmus Ola lost his life to electrocution while engaged in erecting a billboard in the Kajola area via Owode-Egba, Ogun State. The incident occurred at approximately 4:45 pm.
According to an eyewitness who preferred anonymity, Ola, along with a team of five others, was tasked with the removal of an existing billboard, slated for replacement with a new one. During the installation of the new billboard, tragedy struck as Ola inadvertently made contact with a high-tension cable while gripping an iron rod.
The source revealed, “He died instantly when the iron rod he held mistakenly touched the high-tension cable.”

Confirming the unfortunate incident, Odutola Omolola, the state Public Relations Officer, stated on Tuesday that Ola’s lifeless body had been swiftly taken to the Idera Hospital Morgue. Omolola somberly noted, “It happened yesterday (Monday) when they were removing a billboard.”
