Terrorists have kidnapped Isah Muhammad Bawa, the district head of Gobir in Sokoto State.
The district head was abducted on Saturday, along with his son, at Kwanan Maharba in the Sabon Birni area while returning home from Sokoto, the state capital.
Reports indicate that the terrorists blocked the highway and fired two shots at the district head’s vehicle before forcibly taking him and his son into the forest.
In a separate raid shortly after the district head’s abduction, five other individuals were kidnapped at the same location.

The spokesperson for the police in Sokoto State, ASP Ahmad Rufa’i, confirmed the district head’s abduction to journalists. He assured that efforts were underway to secure the release of the victims.
