Crisis Continues in Plateau as Terrorist Set COCIN church Ablaze in Mangu local govt, Target Christians

A branch of the Church of Christ In Nations (COCIN) located in the Mangu local government area of Plateau has been set ablaze by terrorist.

Reports from Sahara Reporters indicate that the assailants are not only targeting church buildings but also launching attacks on individuals perceived to be Christians in the region.

The violent incident unfolded in Mangu town, leading to widespread panic among residents who are now desperately seeking safety.

According to an anonymous resident, the armed men emerged from surrounding bushes, initiating the assault on the COCIN Church near Sabon Kasuwa. Shockingly, they continued their rampage, advancing towards other churches in the town.

The gravity of the situation has escalated tensions in the area, with fears of further violence looming large.

In response to the crisis, Governor Caleb Mutfwang has taken decisive action by declaring a 24-hour curfew in the affected region ”to prevent further violence and protect the lives and properties of the residents.”
