A recent terrorist attack in Kurechin Giye village of Makera Ward, Dutsinma Local Government Area, Katsina State, reportedly resulted in the kidnapping of thirteen individuals, including twelve married women and one man.

The terrorists, armed with sophisticated weapons, invaded the village late Monday, looting properties worth millions of naira belonging to the residents. Despite the prolonged attack, lasting hours, there was no intervention or reinforcement from security forces.

While government and security authorities have yet to issue statements on the incident, a resident, preferring anonymity, provided details to Channels Television.

“On their arrival, the hoodlums were said to have been splashing hot millet-inclined drink prepared by the residents to break the fast on small children and women and eventually carted away property worth millions of naira,” the resident said.
