Insecurity: Terrorists Abduct Women, Including Four Nursing Mothers in Kano Community

Terrorists have reportedly invaded Faruruwa community in Shanono Local Government Area of Kano State, abducting five women, four of whom are said to be nursing mothers.

The assailants were said to have launched the attack on Yan Kwada village around 11 p.m. on Sunday, firing sporadically to scare residents before breaking into houses and whisking away the victims to an unknown destination.

Eyewitnesses recounted that the terrorists moved swiftly through the area, shooting into the air and forcing residents to flee for safety.

“They came in large numbers, shooting and breaking into houses. They took away five women, including nursing mothers,” a resident said.

Sources confirmed that two of the kidnapped women later regained their freedom, while three remain in captivity as of Monday morning.

The incident has heightened tension across rural parts of Kano, especially in areas sharing borders with Katsina State.

Several local governments in Katsina recently entered into controversial peace agreements with armed groups a move analysts fear may be pushing terrorists into neighboring Kano communities.
