INSECURITY: Terrorists Abduct Six Farmers In Birnin Gwari, Kaduna

Terrorists have abducted six farmers in Layin Danauta village, Kuyello Ward of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

The attack occurred on Monday evening when gunmen stormed the area and whisked away farmers working on their beans farm.

A resident who confirmed the incident said the victims were his relatives.

“The terrorists came in large numbers and surrounded the farm,” he said. “They picked six people, all of them are my relatives but the number could be higher.”

Locals said the assailants fired sporadically before taking the captives into the forest. The attack has sparked fear in the community, with many farmers now afraid to return to their fields.

The incident follows another abduction last week in the same area, where terrorists kidnapped several traders traveling to the weekly Layin Danauta market.

The gunmen reportedly blocked a commercial vehicle at Kwanan Danwandara in Tabani Ward, seizing all the occupants, including two people on a motorcycle.

“People can’t go to farms or markets anymore,” a farmer lamented. “These terrorists move freely, and we don’t see any real security presence.”

Birnin Gwari has become one of Kaduna’s most terrorized areas, with frequent kidnappings of farmers and traders despite ongoing security operations.
