Terrorists have struck Kasai village, located in the Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State, abducting at least thirty children.
Batsari, considered a Security Frontline Local Government Area, has been facing a surge in banditry and criminal activities in recent times.
The abduction took place in the early hours of Monday, catching the villagers off guard. As the children ventured behind Kasai village to gather firewood for cooking, they were intercepted by the armed assailants and forcibly taken to an undisclosed location.
Details surrounding the incident remain scarce, with no official response from government authorities or security agencies.
However, according to a resident who spoke to Channels Television, the children were taken while engaged in the routine task of collecting firewood.
The resident stated, “Yes, the attack occurred yesterday, Monday, in the morning hours. It all began when the children numbering up to thirty went behind the Kasai village to secure firewood which their parents would use to cook food for them.

“Unfortunately, some suspected bandits intercepted them and took them to an unknown destination.
“We do hope and pray that peace and security will be restored in our state”, he added.
