As Usual, Terrorists Storm Enugu Community, Abduct Four Female Farmers

Terrorists have reportedly invaded Ogurugu community in the Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State, abducting four women in an incident that occurred on Tuesday evening.

This locality has been consistently targeted by herders and other local militias.

In a recent incident, armed individuals seized control of the Ogboli axis and Ogurugu community, perpetrating kidnappings, according to a community insider who spoke to SaharaReporters on Thursday.

Expressing concern over the escalating kidnapping incidents in the council area, community member Nick Ogbebe lamented, “On Tuesday, four individuals were abducted in Ogurugu community.”

“These are poor mothers and farmers who are working in a new palm plantation company here in Ogurugu in order to support their husbands in the smooth running of their homes.

“For now, no information of their whereabouts. One of my cousins is one of them.”

“Please, we request for your prayers. I wonder what will happen in the coming farming season,” he added.

Attempts to obtain a response from the police proved fruitless, as DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the spokesperson for the command, did not answer calls or respond to a text message.

On January 20, SaharaReporters noted the grievances of kidnapped wedding guests in Nkpunato Nkpologu, Uzo-Uwani Council Area of Enugu State, who criticized the Enugu state police command for refuting the incident.
