A source close to the journalist revealed on Monday that the abductors contacted Manaja’s family and demanded a ransom, though the amount was not disclosed.

Manaja was declared missing after other IMPR staff, led by Dahiru Lawal, arrived in Ilorin ahead of the fellowship. Attempts to reach him by phone were unsuccessful, with his line reportedly unreachable.

The exact location of the abduction remains unclear, and security agencies have yet to release an official statement on the matter.

The PRNigeria Young Communication Fellowship is an annual program held in Kano, Abuja, and Ilorin, aimed at training and mentoring young journalists and communications professionals across Nigeria.
