Six displaced residents were killed by armed terrorists in Amadu community, Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The victims, who had sought refuge in the area, were identified as Terfa Terhemen, Tyoyinga Ngunan, Sondongu Hangem, Aondoso Tsea, Aondona Mteroga, and Onov Nyoko. They were aged between 27 and 35, with one victim reported to be around 65 years old.

A Christian leader, speaking anonymously for security reasons, attributed the attack to Fulani militias.
“The Fulani militias are responsible for the killing. These attacks happen every day. Right now, the residents are protesting,” the cleric said.
Earlier this month, the Taraba State Police Command began investigating reports of armed herders invading Chanchanji community in Takum LGA.

Residents, including Terkula Yooso and Philip Abur, said the herders were seen moving from Donga LGA into Chanchanji Ward, allegedly planning coordinated attacks on nearby towns. Intelligence suggested Peva–Chanchanji and Kufai Ahmadu were potential targets.
Yooso expressed deep concern, citing previous attacks by the same group that displaced thousands of people. “Many residents are already taking refuge in Peva and Amadu. We cannot survive another round of violence,” he said.
The heightened insecurity follows warnings from the Parish Priest of Holy Family Catholic Parish, Takum, Rev. Fr. George Dogo, who described the situation as “disturbing and devastating.”
He called for urgent government intervention to prevent further bloodshed and a worsening humanitarian crisis.
Residents lamented that repeated attacks, coupled with slow government responses, have made the area increasingly unsafe, leaving communities vulnerable to further violence.
