Terrorists Kill Three Soldiers, Two Vigilantes in Nasarawa

A militia group terrorizing parts of Nasarawa State has claimed the lives of at least three soldiers and two members of a vigilante group.

The attack occurred in the Katakpa community of Toto local government area when the assailants ambushed the soldiers, as reported by DAILY POST.

Abdullahi Tashas, the Chairman of the LGA, and Ibrahim Saad, the state lawmaker representing Ugya-Umaisha constituency, confirmed the tragic incident to AIT.

The soldiers, who were on a peacekeeping mission in the troubled Katakpa area, were unfortunately murdered during the ambush.

They had been deployed to restore peace in the area following sustained attacks by the militia group on Toto communities.

The Bassa militia, allegedly responsible for the attack, has been engaged in conflicts with Egbira communities in the Toto LGA over boundary demarcation, despite numerous peace meetings convened by the State Government.

As of the time of reporting, the Nigerian army has yet to issue a statement regarding the incident.
