Kwara: Terrorists Launch Fresh Attack in Eruku Community, Abduct Farmer

Residents of Eruku in the Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State are once again living in fear after a farmer was kidnapped by armed assailants in a fresh attack on Sunday.

According to sources, four gunmen, armed with AK-47 rifles and cutlasses, ambushed the victim, identified as Annas Aasanru, while he was working on his farmland along the road to Koro.

The attackers reportedly seized him and fled into the bush before security personnel or community members could respond.

A local leader, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed the incident and said the abduction has left residents anxious and worried for their safety.

“The attackers came armed and forcibly took one of our own from his farmland. The community is on edge because such attacks keep happening despite previous interventions,” the source said.

This incident comes shortly after a spate of abductions in the area, including the recent release of 38 worshippers who had been kidnapped during a church service. 

Rural communities in Kwara have increasingly become targets for armed groups, and residents are urging security agencies to step up measures to curb the escalating violence. #Eruku
