Terrorists abducted a mobile police officer on Wednesday in the Kampani hamlet of the Wase local government area in the state of Plateau.
Sources in the area claim that the event happened on Wednesday night when the soldier and police officer were ambushed by the bandits while traveling from the Zurak hamlet to Kamapani.
The military managed to flee from the terrorists, the source claimed, but the policeman was kidnapped.
The soldier and police officer were part of a security squad that patrolled areas affected by banditry, including Zurak, Kampani, Bangalala, and others, according to local sources who spoke with Daily Trust.
The story was verified by Sahapi Sambo, a local youth leader. “Both of them were heading for Kampani to their colleagues but got attacked on their way,” Sambo stated.
Security guards are always on patrol to protect people and property because the area around the axis has occasionally been plagued by banditry.

Thus, we have not been informed of the police’s whereabouts up to this point.
The youth leader also revealed that, in an effort to free the kidnapped police officer, security personnel—including troops, police officers, and vigilantes—trodden the bandits to their hiding place on Thursday.
When our correspondent asked about the situation, DSP Alabo Alfred, the state police command’s spokesperson, remained silent.
