In a harrowing incident in Damari, Sabuwa Local Government Area (LGA) of Katsina State, terrorists recently targeted a newlywed bride and her entourage.

Last Thursday, terrorists ambushed the group, which included at least 55 wedding guests, while they were traveling in an open van near the Sabuwa area.

Tragically, the attackers claimed the lives of at least four members of a local vigilante group during the assault.

Since the assault, the victims have been held captive, with the bandits issuing a chilling threat to remarry the abducted bride and sell off the remaining women if a ransom of N100 million is not paid promptly.

A video circulating on social media features the terrorists, one of whom is dressed in a police uniform, asserting responsibility for the abduction.

The unidentified leader brazenly declared, “I am the one who abducted them, and I will never release them until ransom is paid. And if there is anyone who thinks they could rescue them, they should try it.”

Families of the victims have reportedly been contacted by the assailants, who are adamant about the N100 million ransom as the sole condition for the release of the captives.
