‘They’ve Failed, I Will Never Cede Power’, Fubara Assures Rivers People

Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara has pledged not to yield his powers to his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, emphasising his commitment to quality leadership.

He made the bold declaration at the crossover church service at St. Paul’s Archdeaconry Parish in Opobo Town on 2024 New Year’s Eve in Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area.

Fubara addressed the challenges to his administration, stating that detractors aim to dampen the spirit of Rivers people and hinder the state’s development.

Speaking at St. Paul’s Archdeaconry Parish, Fubara reassured the public, saying, “I want to urge everyone of us here, don’t be frightened. What they want is this red biro; it is still with me.

“They have failed. You are the winner; we are the winner because we are still signing with the red biro. And, so long as we are signing with the red biro, development will continue in Rivers State.”

The governor, disclosed that there is already a designed development agenda and level of progress determined for Rivers State in 2024, equally stressed that he will not relent in working for the good of the state.
