In a recent Senate screening for Supreme Court justice nominees, Jummai Sankey, the presiding justice of the Court of Appeal, Owerri division, made an unusual statement, referring to the three senators from Kaduna State as her “husbands.”

The moment, captured in a video obtained by Politics Nigeria, occurred on Wednesday during Sankey’s appearance before lawmakers.

Expressing concern over the absence of any representative from her state of origin, Plateau, among the committee members, Justice Sankey found solace in the presence of a senator from Kaduna State.

She went on to explain that although she hails from Plateau, her state by marriage is Kaduna, as her husband is from there.

She stated, “I come from Plateau State. I have noticed that I don’t have any representative backing me here. But, my state by marriage is Kaduna State.
