Three Nigerians Arrested in Kenya Over Cyber Fraud, Immigration Violations

Kenyan authorities have arrested three Nigerian nationals for alleged involvement in cyber fraud and illegal residency.

The suspects, Peter Chukwujekwu, Alazor Chukulute Sunday, and Nnalue Chiagozie Samwel, were apprehended on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, during a joint police and immigration raid in Mwihoko village, Ngurubani town, following reports of suspicious movements and late-night activities in a rented apartment.

According to a statement released by Kenyan police, the coordinated operation in Mwaliko Estate, Mwea town, uncovered a suspected cybercrime network operated by the trio.

Man Arrested

Items recovered from the scene included 21 mobile phones, 79 SIM cards, a Dell laptop, and several credit cards from different banks, all believed to be tools used in online fraud.

Police further disclosed that the suspects, who claimed to be “running an online business,” had overstayed their entry permits and were residing in the country without valid documentation.

The statement added that the three are currently in custody as investigations continue to trace possible links to cross-border cybercrime syndicates.
