Former Rivers State Governor, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, had two years ago declared loyalty to Dr. Odili who played pivotal roles in shaping his political career.
Just two years ago, Wike said this about the Odilis, “I know I will die one day. But the truth must be told. Any day that I will make Dr. Odili and his family cry, God, don’t make me grow. These people suffered blackmail and everything because of some people like us.”

Wike’s earlier promises to remain loyal to the Odili family, acknowledging their contributions to his political and personal life, including his wife’s career advancement as a judge. Despite this, Wike is accused of commissioning attacks against the Odilis and leading a campaign of criticism against the family.
Wike once described the APC as a “cancer” and pledged to have no association with them, only to align with the party later. Additionally, he swore to support whoever emerged as the PDP presidential candidate but reneged on that commitment and took a different path.
It is also alleged that Wike vowed to remain loyal to Goodluck Jonathan and his wife but later betrayed them both. He promised never to act against the PDP, yet he is now actively undermining the party.
