BUSTED: How Tinubu, APC, Nigerian Mainstream Media Attempted to Smear Igbo Image with ‘Philip Chinaza’ Kidnapping Claim in Abuja

In an attempt to spread more bigotry and hate towards the Igbo tribe, a major successful tribe, Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu, along with the All Progressive Congress (APC), collaborated to promote a narrative through mainstream media outlets across Nigeria.

They alleged that a certain Philip Chinaza from the South East was arrested in Abuja on charges of kidnapping in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), despite the individual’s actual name being Michael Chukwuemeka from Umuahia.

Recall that Parallel Facts reported an investigation revealing over 200 violent attacks in all six area councils of the FCT since Bola Tinubu assumed office on May 29, 2023.

These incidents resulted in the tragic deaths of at least 87 FCT residents, with 176 individuals kidnapped during this period.

The statistics were compiled from Beacon Consulting, a local security monitoring firm, and various media reports covering violent attacks, including kidnappings and killings in the FCT.

It’s worth noting that prior to Tinubu’s controversial victory in the February 25 Presidential Election, he introduced divisive terms like ‘Yoruba Ronu’ and ‘Emilokan’ to create tension between the Yoruba and Igbo communities.

This strategy appears to persist as Tinubu gears up for the 2027 general elections.

In 2019, as reported by P.M. Express, the same individual, Philip Chinaza, but as a woman previously accused of financial fraud under the APC-led government, was brought into the spotlight.

Reacting to the allegations, as posted by an x user, @omoelerinjare, Philip’s sister disclosed that his brother’s actual name is Michael Chukwuemeka and he resides in Umuahia.

This revelation raises questions about the motives behind the attempt to link him to criminal activities and the broader agenda of promoting discord between ethnic groups.

According to a sister to ‘Philip’ revealed his brother’s name is not Chinaza but Michael Chukwuemeka who lves in Umuahia.

“My brother is not a kidnapper. He was paid to act as one to dent Igbo’s image; he first contacted me and told me of the gist; I told him not to, but I did not know he later accepted the offer,” Chinaza’s sister said.

“My brother is a mechanic in Umuahia, Abia State, and has never carried a gun before; everyone who knows him is in shock. His name is not Chinaza; his real name is “Michael Chukwuemeka,” she added

According to a statement from Chinaza’s sister, the man arrested by the Nigerian police is not a kidnapper but was paid to act as one to damage the reputation of Igbo people.

The sister who shared a WhatsApp chat with his brother before accepting the offer, claimed that Chinaza told her about the scheme, but she advised him not to go through with it. However, she says he later accepted the offer.

Till now, the sister’s statement has not been verified by the police or any other official source, and there has been a sudden silence on the allegation.
