Tinubu Did Not Win Any Election Even With Electoral Fraud, He Was Thrashed in 4 Urban Population Centres in Nigeria — David Hundeyin

Investigative journalist David Hundeyin has claimed that Bola Tinubu did not win the 2023 Nigerian presidential election, even with allegations of electoral fraud.

In a post on his official X handle, Hundeyin highlighted that candidates other than Tinubu collectively scored about 60% of votes cast on February 25, 2023, according to INEC’s official figures.

He emphasized that Tinubu was “thrashed” in Nigeria’s four major urban centers—Lagos, Port Harcourt, Abuja, and Kano—even based on official numbers.

Hundeyin stated, “Investigative journalist David Hundeyin in a post on his official X handle, stated, “Far be it from me to defend Nigerians, but on this one, I have to keep reminding us:

“Candidates not named “Bola Tinubu” collectively scored about 60% of votes cast on February 25, 2023 – ACCORDING TO INEC’S OFFICIAL FIGURES.

“In other words, even allowing for the electoral fraud that took place, Tinubu simply did not “win” any election. He was THRASHED in all of Nigeria’s 4 urban population centres (Lagos, PH, Abuja, Kano) – even according to the official numbers.

“The only reason he is holding power today is that Nigeria runs a very dangerous and stupid winner-takes-all electoral system that gives a minority government the full powers of a majority government.

“Tinubu becoming “president” on 30% of the official vote numbers would be like the DA in South Africa being allowed to unilaterally form a government with John Steenhuisen as president after scoring 21% in the last election,” he added.
