Bola Tinubu has stated how his administration has tackled hunger and poverty in Nigeria.
He attributed such move to Brazil’s efforts in alignment with Nigeria’s current economic policies.
Speaking at the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Tinubu said, “Brazil’s accordance of priority to the Fight Against Hunger and Poverty aligns with Nigeria’s current economic policies.”
He highlighted his administration’s commitment to these issues, referencing Nigeria’s 8-Point Agenda unveiled in 2023.
“When I took office in 2023, I unveiled an 8-Point Agenda. Priority 3 focused on boosting agriculture to achieve food security, through the development of commodity value chain and the provision of infrastructure support.

“Priority 6 focuses on education, health and social investment as essential pillars of development,” Tinubu stated.
Tinubu praised Brazil’s leadership in launching the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty, calling it “a bold and visionary step” to address pressing global challenges.
He remarked, “This initiative offers a comprehensive approach not only to addressing immediate needs but also tackling the structural causes of hunger and poverty.”
Tinubu also reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to joining the Global Alliance, describing it as “a significant step forward” in the nation’s efforts to eradicate poverty.
