Activist Aisha Yesufu has criticised Nigerians for turning against one another instead of holding Bola Tinubu’s administration accountable for the rising insecurity and killings across the country.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, Yesufu said the government had successfully diverted citizens’ anger, leaving people fighting among themselves over the identity of victims instead of demanding justice and action from the authorities.
She condemned the growing religious and tribal bias in Nigerians’ response to violence, noting that many only show concern when victims share their faith or ethnicity.

Yesufu criticised the “illegitimate administration” of Tinubu for manipulating public sentiment and urged Nigerians to take responsibility instead of waiting for foreign nations to intervene.
According to her, “Tinubu’s administration has managed to turn defeated people against themselves rather than against his illegitimate government over the killings in Nigeria.
“The argument is now about who is being killed instead of the fact that citizens are being killed.”
She faulted the selective outrage among Nigerians, saying, “For religious bigots, only the deaths of people from their faith matter; for tribal bigots, it is only when their ethnic group is affected that they react.”
Yesufu further stated that Nigerians must act collectively to demand an end to the killings, rather than shifting responsibility or seeking international validation.
She added, “Don’t claim helplessness — you have a voice, and you vote. What have you done to ensure the killings stop?”
