Amid harsh economic realities confronting millions of Nigerians, a review of Nigeria’s 2026 approved budget has shown that the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation plans to spend N1.1 billion on SGF office annex meant to serve as quarters for presidential aides.
This sum is in addition to another N1.2 billion earmarked for the purchase of SUVs and other luxury vehicles. The allocation is intended for the procurement of Toyota SUVs, saloon cars, and pick-up double-cabin vehicles.
An earlier assessment of Nigeria’s 2026 budget shows that the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) also plans to spend N496 million on photocopier machines and office furniture.
The budget description reads, “Purchase of office equipment including supply and installation of three numbers heavy duty photocopy machines for cabinet affairs office end room and supply of office furniture.”
A previous review of Nigeria’s approved 2025 budget showed that N100 million was allocated for the purchase and supply of grinding machines for empowerment in the Ifako-Ijaiye Federal Constituency in Lagos State, under the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
Further review revealed that another N100 million was budgeted for the supply and distribution of grinding machines in the Bonny/Degema Federal Constituency of Rivers State, also under the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

The same office budgeted an additional N200 million for the supply of grinding machines in the Kaduna South Federal Constituency in Kaduna State.
In total, N400 million was budgeted for the purchase and distribution of grinding machines in 2025 by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
