Senator Kashim Shettima has confidently assured that the naira will continue its upward trend against the dollar, attributing the positive trajectory to Chief Bola Tinubu’s understanding of the economic landscape.
During a courtesy visit by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry to his office at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Senator Shettima expressed his conviction in Chief Tinubu’s grasp of economic dynamics. He emphasized the former governor’s role in implementing crucial reforms, including the cessation of fuel subsidies and the unification of multiple exchange rates.
Senator Shettima elaborated on the previous volatility of the naira, noting that while some celebrated its fluctuations, those with insight recognized the need for decisive action.
He stated, “Naira went haywire and some people were celebrating but inwardly we were laughing at them because we knew that we have the leadership to reverse the trend. Asiwaju knows the game, and truly the naira is gaining and the difference will drop further.”

Furthermore, Senator Shettima commended Chief Tinubu’s leadership during his tenure as governor of Lagos, acknowledging its pivotal role in laying the groundwork for the state’s remarkable development. “We will always thank Senator Tinubu for providing the blueprint for the development of Lagos that we are seeing today,” he affirmed.
