Tinubu Imposed Resolution On Fubara— Ex-Rivers Commissioner

A former Commissioner for Works in Rivers State, Chief David Briggs, has claimed that Governor Siminalayi Fubara was coerced into accepting the ‘Abuja resolution,’ allegedly imposed by Bola Tinubu.

Briggs revealed in a press interview on Wednesday that he personally attended the resolution meeting held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday.

According to Briggs, the gathering was not a typical meeting but rather an occasion where Tinubu entered with a pre-prepared resolution, asserting it as a presidential proclamation. He alleged that Fubara signed the resolution under pressure.

“I was there, so what I say is primary, not secondary. We were invited for a meeting, but that was not a meeting. What happened is that Mr. President walked in with a written resolution, addressed us, and declared that what he had in his hand is a presidential proclamation, therefore he can whip,” Briggs stated.

He further emphasized that Tinubu stressed his position as the head of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, cautioning that dissent would have consequences. In simpler terms, Briggs characterized this as a threat. According to him, Tinubu wrote the resolution but opted not to read it, instead passing it to Dr. Peter Odili to read aloud. # Fubara
