Tinubu Should Be Impeached Over Benue Killings—Aisha Yesufu Demands Senate Action

Activist Aisha Yesufu has called on the Nigerian Senate to begin discussions about impeaching Tinubu following the brutal killings in Benue State. Her demand comes as fresh violence unfolded in Yelewata, where suspected armed herdsmen attacked late Friday, leaving over 200 victims dead and injured.

The Benue State Police confirmed the incident, stating that the assailants struck around 10:00 pm, only to be met by a swift and deadly response from tactical teams early Saturday morning.

Frustrated by Tinubu’s muted reaction, especially in contrast to his heartfelt condolences to India after a recent plane crash, Yesufu took aim at his priorities in a post on X.

She wrote, “Tinubu is sitting down there gloating over the deaths of Nigerians whose mandate he truncated to occupy the office of the C‑in‑C, and instead of Tinubu’s impeachment to be the topic of discussion, who is supposed to OWN a political party is the main topic!”

“Tinubu condoled with India and not with Benue,” she added, highlighting his failure to address the plight of Nigerians suffering within their own country.

Yesufu, known for her role in the Bring Back Our Girls campaign, expressed outrage at Tinubu’s perceived indifference at a time when countless lives are being lost under his administration.

The activist urged the Senate to make Tinubu’s inaction in the face of national tragedy the centerpiece of its agenda, demanding urgent accountability for the endless wave of violence.
