Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced on Monday that the 2024 budget, totaling N28.7 trillion, includes a dedicated N100 billion for school feeding programs.
The statement was made as he signed the appropriation bill into law at the State House in Abuja.
He emphasized that this allocation aims to boost school attendance and address the issue of out-of-school children.
“One of the priority areas of the bill we just passed is the N100 billion provision for feeding schoolchildren. I believe that is a stimulant that will encourage enrollment and address malnutrition among schoolchildren.

“I will be meeting with local governments at sub-national levels so that we can collaborate and jointly implement an all-inclusive programme,” he said.
Tinubu has affirmed that the budget is centered on diminishing recurrent expenses while simultaneously boosting capital expenditures.
It’s worth noting that in December, Tinubu directed the reinstatement of the school feeding program, stipulating that its oversight be shifted from the Humanitarian Ministry to the Education Ministry.
