Nasir El-Rufai, the former Governor of Kaduna State, has voiced criticism over the appointments made by Bola Tinubu since he assumed office.
During an interview on Arise TV on Monday, El-Rufai pointed out that Tinubu is primarily appointing his “boys” from Lagos into political positions, which he believes is unbalanced.

El-Rufai stressed that the South-West should not be blamed for the actions of the president, as these appointments are the president’s decisions and not representative of the entire region.
He said, “The president’s appointments are not being made because the appointees are Yoruba, but because they are his own boys, and most of the appointments do not even reasonably cover the South-West.”
He urged people to separate the president’s personal actions from the broader South-West community, warning that blaming the entire group for the president’s decisions is unjust.
El-Rufai further emphasized that President Tinubu needs to address the issue and noted that, despite the situation, it is not too late for the president to make corrections.
“There is palpable anger in the north,” he added, indicating the growing discontent with the current appointments.
