This initiative, supported by Chief Bola Tinubu, aims to transform Nigeria into a green development leader in Africa, despite skepticism that it could become another white elephant project.

The follow-up meeting, held in Abuja, discussed the progress of the Evergreen City project, which aims to showcase Nigerian talent and position the country as a manufacturing hub. Ngelale emphasized the government’s commitment to achieving the project’s goals through well-planned execution and national ingenuity.

“With time-bound deliverables and immense international interest in the landmark development, we are more confident than ever that with the diligent execution of well-laid plans, Nigeria will be the green reference point for large markets becoming large producers in Africa,” said Ngelale. “Our bet is on Nigerians and national ingenuity, and we believe we have a talented population of creators who will drive this manufacturing hub to success.”

The SPEC highlighted the government’s enthusiasm for the Evergreen City project, noting that it is designed to elevate Nigeria’s status in sustainable development.
