Bola Tinubu is set to participate in the upcoming Arab-African and Saudi-Africa summits taking place in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as part of his administration’s commitment to attracting foreign investment and bolstering economic prospects for the country.
Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, made this announcement while briefing State House Correspondents in Abuja on Sunday.
Tinubu’s attendance at the summits is grounded in the Nigerian government’s ambition to leverage every available opportunity to encourage Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) across various sectors of the economy.
Ngelale highlighted that the president would actively engage in attracting genuine foreign investors to participate in diverse areas of the Nigerian economy.
The Arab-African Summit aims to devise practical solutions to enhance cooperation between Arab and African nations, positioning them to keep pace with emerging global powers. This endeavor encompasses identifying areas for collaboration, establishing a shared vision for knowledge and experience exchange, and formulating projects and frameworks to strengthen bilateral and multilateral relationships between Arab and African countries.

Dr. Khalid Manzalawi, Assistant Secretary-General for International Political Affairs of the League of Arab States, noted, “In light of the geostrategic shifts unfolding in the international system, Arab countries are collectively and diligently seeking to diversify their strategic partners. This effort has created opportunities for establishing promising strategic partnerships in several fields with many actors in the international community.”
The summit’s objectives include revitalizing Arab-African relations, addressing concerns related to conflicts and counter-terrorism, and tackling challenges such as poverty, education, health, food security, development, debt crises, and global issues like climate change, migration, and humanitarian aid.
The last Arab-African Summit was convened in 2016, underscoring the significance of this year’s gathering.
Ngelale emphasised that detailed discussions would take place during the summit, where the president would meet with investors and stakeholders, particularly those relevant to Nigeria’s economic revival.
Tinubu will be accompanied by members of the cabinet, representatives from the business community, and other key government officials as they explore opportunities to enhance economic prospects for Nigeria and strengthen ties with Arab and African nations.
