If Jonathan Was Voted Out Over Chibok Girls, Tinubu Should Be Voted Out Over ‘Genocide Against Christians’ — Shehu Sadiq

Political commentator, Shehu Gazali Sadiq, has argued that Bola Tinubu should be voted out of office over what he described as “genocide against Christians.”

In a post on his X handle on Monday, Sadiq drew a comparison with former President Goodluck Jonathan, who he said was removed from office after the 2014 abduction of the Chibok schoolgirls.

“If Goodluck Jonathan was voted out because of Chibok girls, then Tinubu should be voted out because of genocide against Christians. This is what BATidiots and their apologists are fighting against,” Sadiq wrote.

His remarks have triggered mixed reactions online, with some social media users backing his statement while others faulted his language.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan lost his bid for re-election in 2015, partly due to mounting criticism over his government’s handling of the Boko Haram insurgency.

The abduction of more than 270 schoolgirls from Chibok, Borno State, in April 2014 became a major turning point, sparking global outrage and undermining public confidence in his leadership. The incident fueled campaigns against his administration and contributed to his defeat at the polls.

Bola Tinubu, who took office in May 2023, has faced increasing criticism over worsening insecurity, particularly violent attacks on Christian communities in different parts of the country.

His critics argue that his government has not done enough to curb killings linked to terrorism and banditry. These security lapses, combined with economic hardships under his administration, have amplified calls for accountability and leadership change.
