If Tinubu Cares About Nigeria, He Shouldn’t Have removed Subsidy Like Bomb Blast — Catholic Archbishop

Archbishop

In the midst of Nigeria’s economic challenges, the Catholic Archbishop of Kaduna Diocese, Most Rev. Matthew Man-Oso Ndagoso, has pointed fingers at Chief Bola Tinubu for the abrupt removal of the fuel subsidy.

Speaking at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cathedral in Kaduna, Archbishop Ndagoso said that Tinubu should have phased out the subsidy gradually rather than implementing it like a “time bomb.”

Speaking to journalists, Ndagoso emphasised the urgent need for Tinubu to reconsider his approach, asserting that the hasty removal of the subsidy contributes to the prevailing hardships faced by Nigerians. The Archbishop also attributed the economic woes to what he deemed as the government’s flawed policies.

The Archbishop stated, “Nigerians are suffering and all of these sufferings are avoidable. But they impose bad policies. Tinubu’s policies have compounded the problems.

“Anyone who cares about Nigeria shouldn’t have removed subsidy, Tinubu should have done it gradually and not like bomb blast,” he added.

He further lamented that the country has never experienced such severe difficulties, placing the blame squarely on ineffective leadership.
