In anticipation of their crucial Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final clash against Angola today, the Super Eagles received a pep talk from Bola Tinubu via a video call.
Tinubu, presently on a private visit to France, conveyed his encouragement to the team in a video posted on his son Seyi Tinubu’s Instagram page.
This boost follows the Super Eagles’ commendable 2-0 triumph over Cameroon, securing their advancement to the knockout stages.
Additionally, principal officers and members of the joint sports committees in the National Assembly expressed their intent to travel to Abidjan to personally support the team.
Senator Kawu Sumaila, the chairman of the Senate Committee on Sports, conveyed his satisfaction with the team’s performance and affirmed the lawmakers’ backing.

“I am pleased with the Nigerian team’s performance at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations,” he stated. “The principal officers of the National Assembly and the two Committees on Sports will also be in Cote d’Ivoire to watch the quarter-finals with Angola.”
Addressing the speculations surrounding coach Jose Peseiro’s future, Senator Sumaila stated, “We will look at it after the competition, I am sure of victory for the Super Eagles against Angola.”
