Our Spending on Insecurity Affects Availability of Funds for Other Needs— Tinubu

Tinubu

Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed his concern over the impact of security spending on the national budget and other essential needs.

Tinubu, who spoke through a representative at the 31/32 convocation ceremonies of the Federal University of Technology Minna in Niger state, said the government was facing security challenges on various fronts that affect the availability of funds for other needs.

“Our spending on insecurity affects the availability of funds for other needs,” Tinubu said.

He assured the public that the government was committed to ensuring that other vital sectors, such as education, were not neglected despite the financial pressures caused by security concerns.

He said the government was dedicated to creating safe and conducive learning environments on university campuses and fostering industrial harmony within educational institutions.

He also expressed his willingness to dialogue with university staff-based unions to resolve differences amicably.

He acknowledged that the government had not met the expectations of the people as quickly as desired, but he pointed to the administration’s commitment to revamping the entire education sector.

He announced the signing of the Students Loan Act, which is aimed at ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder students from pursuing higher education.

He urged the graduating students to use their skills and knowledge to contribute to the development of the country and the world.
