Orji Uzor-Kalu has urged Nigerians to give Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu an extended period to address economic challenges, recognizing the widespread difficulties faced by millions of Nigerians.
The former Senate chief whip, Kalu, conveyed this message on Tuesday during a courtesy visit to Stanley Okoro-Emegha, the Ebonyi chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Koli-Edda, Afikpo South LGA of Ebonyi.
As the former Abia governor emphasized, Tinubu is diligently working to restructure the nation’s economy and revive its former prosperity.
Kalu emphasized that what is needed is patience and time from the citizens to allow Tinubu to implement his economic revitalization efforts.

“The APC government is cutting the cloth into pieces. Before you sew a clothe, you will first cut it into pieces before you start sewing the clothe. So, Tinubu is busy cutting the clothe into pieces.
“So, give us another three years or two years. People are suffering. We understand that. Give us more two years for the clothe we want to sew to be sewn very well,” Mr Kalu said.
In the 2024 appropriation bill, Mr. Kalu exonerated the lawmakers from any responsibility for the budget.
“We said that we are going to do a census and Nigeria has put several billion in planning for the national census in 2023 and if we did not vote money for the conduct of the exercise, Nigeria will be losing about N289 billion,” he said.
Mr. Kalu emphasized the importance of young people becoming catalysts for positive transformation by abstaining from any involvement in social vices or activities that could jeopardize the peace and security of the nation.
