Tinubu Supported Babangida’s Annulment of June 12 Election — Lamido

Former Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has revealed that Bola Tinubu was among those who supported the cancellation of the June 12 election.

He made this known during an interview programme on Arise TV.

Lamido disclosed that Tinubu’s mother, Hajia Mogaji even organized Lagos market women to storm Abja in support of Babangida.

His words ,” I feel highly entertained by Tinubu’s rhetoric, the way he’s dramatising his role in Nigeria’s democracy.

Tinubu became relevant and noticeable after Abacha took over the government; before then, he was in the senate while he was the secretary of the party.

“He was part of those who supported IBB’s annulment of the June 12 election, his own mother Hajia Mogaji was organising Lagos market women to come to Abuja to pledge support for Babangida.

“Tinubu was actively hand-in-glove with Babangida. NADECO was postulation formation to fight Abacha not for June 12.

“What ever Tinubu is doing today is simply reconstructing history, the way to fit his own interest.

He mentioned a list of others including himself who fought Abacha but according to him, instead of Tinubu joining the fight, he ran away, flew out of the country.

“He only came back after the coast was clear. All those advocated of June 12, they are only concerned about the birth water rather than the baby because during the process that produced the product, they were not there.

“I feel embarrassed for the president and the way he is behaving. What’s happening in Nigeria today is simply very laughable.

“People who had no political predegree, political history, fighting Nigeria democracy is so laughable,” he added.
