In Kano State, one Sadiq Zubairu, a known supporter of Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with an active Twitter handle @sadiqsolar, stands accused of a heinous crime: the murder of his friend, Bello Bukar Adamu.
It has been uncovered that Bello Bukar Adamu, an employee at Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), went missing on May 4, 2024. His disappearance led to investigations by the Kano State Police Command.
According to CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the police received a report from a concerned resident about Bello’s absence. Subsequently, a male body was discovered on the outskirts of the Eastern Bypass, around Bechi Village in Kumbotso LGA, Kano State. The victim was later identified as Bello Bukar Adamu.
The police moved into action, led by Kano State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Usaini Gumel, who deployed a team of detectives to apprehend the perpetrator, Sadiq Zubairu, 35, of Hotoro Arewa Quarters, Nassarawa LGA.
In his confession, Sadiq Zubairu admitted to the gruesome act. He confessed to deceiving Bello Bukar Adamu with promises of securing employment at the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), in exchange for a sum of three million naira. When pressed by Bello for results, Sadiq resorted to violence, brutally murdering his friend.
Sadiq Zubairu’s modus operandi was as cruel. He confessed to enlisting the help of two accomplices to carry out the deed. Together, they attacked Bello, rendering him motionless with blows from sticks and a sharp iron. Subsequently, they disposed of his body along the Eastern Bypass.
The news of the crime has generated a number of opinions and comments from across social media platforms. Netizens have expressed outrage and condemnation, with many linking Sadiq Zubairu’s actions to his allegiance to Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“People who support Tinubu and his party APC are mostly brutal criminals with no integrity or humanity. Avoid them,” remarked one netizen.
Another lamented, “You have to be a criminal and lack morals to support Tinubu. Quote me anywhere. It does not matter if you call yourself a pastor or a bishop.”
Yet another expressed disbelief, stating, “I always say that all Tinubu supporters are criminally minded!!! No normal human being without criminal tendencies can support Tinubu… It’s impossible!”
