Tinubu Suspends NSIPA Boss, Halima Shehu

Bola Tinubu has given his approval for the immediate suspension and initiation of an investigation into Ms. Halima Shehu, the National Coordinator and CEO of the National Social Investment Program Agency, following allegations of financial fraud.

In light of the ongoing investigation, Dr. Akindele Egbuwalo, the National N-POWER Program Manager, has been appointed in an interim capacity as the acting NC/CEO until the inquiry is concluded.

Ms. Halima Shehu’s suspension comes approximately three months after the Senate confirmed her appointment to the position.

Prior to her current role, she served as the National Coordinator of the Conditional Cash Transfer Programme and had a previous tenure with the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development from 2017 to 2022.
